Wilma Hockensmith LaGasse, 103, of Lake Jackson went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was born May 9, 1909 to John Henry and Lula Young Hockensmith. Wilma moved here in 1945. She was a charter member of the Lake Jackson Presbyterian Church. Wilma was also a member of the Brazosport Daylily Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed LaGasse, and Brother E.T. Hockensmith.

Wilma is survived by two daughters, Ervaline Blackstock and Husband Rex.

Betty Taylor and Husband Jerry.

5 grandchildren, Steve, Debbie, Kelley, Kirk, and Kevin

Numerous great and great great grandchildren, and one Sister-in-Law Lillian Hockensmith.

The family will receive friends 5pm until 7pm Monday, May 6, 2013 at Lakewood Chapel, 98 N. Dixie Drive, Lake Jackson, Funeral services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church of Lake Jackson with Rev. Alan Trafford officiating. Interment will be at Restwood Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The First Presbyterian Church, 102 Yaupon, Lake Jackson, Tx 77566.

Don't even remember not knowing Ms Wilma she has been a part of our family life since young childhood. Wilma will be missed but not forgotten. I think of even more so when my day lilies bloom . Prayers & thoughts are with you Ervaline & Betty.
