On June 4, Jerry "Gene" Tumlinson, of Lake Jackson, was called home to be with his eternal savior. Gene was born November 29, 1941, in Groesbeck, TX to John William and Willie Mae (Ellis) Tumlinson, who preceded him in death.

Gene proudly served in the The United States Army and during his service met the love of his life, Neoma Poehl Tumlinson, whom he engaged in marriage for 51 years. Gene was an avid hunter, fisherman, poker player, spent most of his career at Reichardt Electric and Summers Electric, and was a member of New Beginnings Community Church.

Gene is survived by his wife, Neoma; and sisters, Alice Kimbough and Vicky Christie and husband, Terry. Gene and Neoma had three children, daughter, Tina Henson and husband, John of Columbia Lakes; son, Deryl Tumlinson and wife, Susan of Angleton and son, Cory Tumlinson and wife, Stephanie of Houston, Texas. He was most proud of his grandchildren, Justin Henson, Coby Tumlinson, Ashlyn Tumlinson, Zachary Henson, Derek Tumlinson, and Dylan Tumlinson. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends, including his best friend, Robert "Bobby" Monical.

Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather "Pawpaw", uncle, and friend.

The family will receive guests at the Lakewood Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013.

Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013, officiated by Pastor John Haynes of New Beginnings Community Church.

Tina and Family,
Heavy hearts and thoughts are with you all in the loss of your loved one. Will always remember, he passed on my 61st birthday. Have never seen your mom, but you and your boys sure favor your dad. So sorry! Time will make the days better, but we never forget, but do have the fond memories of all who go before us! Love you Tina and May God Bless You All! Sue

We are saddened to hear of Gene's passing. He was a great guy and loads of fun to work with. There are none like him anymore in the electrical business. He will be missed by all that knew & loved him.
