Carol Marlene (Wagner) Reynolds

Our beloved wife, mom, daughter, grammy, sister, aunt and friend lost her courageous battle with breast cancer July 1,2013. She was surrounded in love by her family when she was called home.

Carol was born July 5, 1950 in Santa Monica, CA to Malcolm and Enola Wagner, and grew up in Los Angeles. She moved to Texas in 1965 and met the love of her life, Jimmy at Surfside Beach. They married on May 12, 1967, and thus started 46 years of love, laughter, children and grandchildren.

She left to cherish her memory her husband, Jimmy, mom Enola and children, Jamie (Donna) Reynolds, Rona (David) Beckham, and Trisha (Cliff) DuBose. She was preceeded in death by her father. Carol was blessed with nine grandchildren who kept her young: Bryan (Tiffany) and Becca Reynolds, Courtney Reynolds, Troy and Brooke Beckham, Alyssa Perez, Mason, Cayla and Lauren DuBose. Siblings Patty (Les) Cannady, Danny (Tiffany) Howell, Paul Howell, Leslie (Darryl) Terry and Sid (Rose) Howell. She enjoyed a large extended family which included many aunts, uncles, neices and nephews, as well as many "adopted" kids.

Carol spent many years caring for other people's children; during that time she raised her own kids, crocheted and quilted many piles of blankets, cross-stitched many a picture and still had time to order future birthday and Christmas gifts from QVC. Hardly was there a day when the UPS truck didn't stop at the house. She was forever working on a new craft or sewing project. During the holidays, she spend days baking mass amounts of goodies that many were blessed with. Her home was always open to those in need and advise was freely given.

When grandkids came along, life took a different pace. There were trips to the zoo, ball games, more quilts (smallish size) and very special memories made at Easter and Christmas.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Trinity Christian Center at 1280 Hospital Drive in Angleton, TX at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Arrangements are being made by the family and Lakewood Funeral Home.

As a child, Carol watched over us and Rob, Rona, Jamie, Trisha and I got to be very good friends. Over the years, no matter how far apart we were, I could always count on Carol for a good phone chat. I've always loved you Carol and I thank you for being such an important part of my life growing up. You are so very dearly missed, and I know we'll see you again when you welcome us home!

Carol was one of the most giving women I have ever had the joy of knowing. She babysat Rob and Cathi in elementary school when Jamie and Rona were the same age. They became like siblings. Rest in peace, Carol, and God bless the whole Reynolds family.

Oh momma, how I miss you already. The days we spent on the porch watching your angel bird, and the nights we spent being able to hold each other will be treasured forever. Don't worry about us down here (as you often did) we are ok knowing you are in a better place. We will take care of daddy, I promise. One day we will meet again, I can't wait. I Love you to the moon and back. Forever and ever. OK......OK.......OK

Grammy you will truly be missed. I wish that I could have been around you more often and known you sooner, but the times I was around you, you always made me laugh and smile. You were always smiling! You have such an amazing family that I am so thankful to be apart of. I will never forget you and will see you again soon in a beautiful place. RIP Angel.

I know your in a better place with amazing company now, but no matter how real it is, it all just seems as though it is a horrible nightmare and that I could just wake up from it. You will always have a place in my heart, and I appreciate all the love and wisdom you have given me. I love you soo much Grammy, I miss you already!

Words cannot describe the loss we all feel with your passing. You were such a pillar of strength for this family. You gave me so much --- your son for me to share my life with, love, laughter, recipes, hand-quilted blankets, the love of cross-stitch, much needed common sense answers to life's questions. You were someone I could truly talk to in honesty and know I would get an honest answer back. I miss watching our favorite shows together, even though we were at our own houses, and discussing them over the phone the whole time. I have such a wonderful extended family through you; I wouldn't trade them for the world!
Miss you so much already,
Donna

My condolences to the family. I know she will be missed very much by all but so glad you have those precious memories to look back on! I didn't know her as well as I would have liked, but her heart was shown in a post on FB. She thanked me for being there for her mother and helping to watch out for her. She loved you Enola and this was one way she showed it. I know she is, "Resting in Peace" now. That is when shes not running around looking at all that beautiful nature in Heaven! :)
