Robert Mason Holt, 66, lifelong resident of Lake Jackson, went to heaven July 2, 2013 after fighting a sudden illness. He attended Brazosport High School and Texas Tech University. Robert was a decorated corporal in the U.S. Marines Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked in Saudi Arabia in the late seventies and eighties. Robert traveled all over the world but had a special love for Great Britain. He also worked as a substitute teacher in Brazoria County schools and the Wyndham School District.


He was preceded in death by his parents George Eugene and Doris Jeannette Holt, and sister Martha Dale Bouis.


He is survived by nieces Emily Ruth Vandigriff and husband, Eric, Amanda Jeanette Holland and her husband Jeremy. great nieces and nephews: Maegan, John-Eric, Spencer, Rachel, Locke, Gabriella, Jerilyn; great great nephew Christopher; first cousins Ruth Holt, Jan Stuart, Sandra Guthrey and , Carol Ann Hopper.


The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until service time at 2pm Monday, July 8, 2013 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Houston National Cemetery.


The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Texas Disabled Veterans Association;

He had many lifelong friends he loved and he will be missed.

Robert was a good friend. We had great times at Texas Tech together and hunting in East Texas. We will miss him.
