"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness". Charlie Raymond Dirba, 86, completed his journey into eternal life on October 15, 2013. His parents came to the USA from Czechoslovakia and started farming in Wallis, Texas where he was born on April 21, 1927 to Frank and Martha Dirba. He was very proud of his Czech heritage and was known as an extremely hardworking, honest, honest man whose word and handshake was all that was needed. When friends and family would joke that he was a hard-headed bohemian, dad would vehemently reply that he wasn't but just knew how to do "tings the RIGHT way"! Charlie was a self-taught master mechanic who could repair or fix anything and loved being outdoors. He ran the Sinclair transformed in Arco, then Phillips service station for over 40 years. His customers were thought of as extended family. In his later years he took up gardening and shared his vegetables and oranges with his neighbors and church family. Dad was known to show up at people's houses and plant orange tree seedlings whether they wanted them or not just because he thought everybody should have one. He looked forward to Wednesdays being able to go to Mass at St. Michael's then playing dominoes with the group. One of dad's most cherished projects was watching and teaching others how to do the mechanical work on a 1929 Model A Coupe while watching Eric and Bud Wilson as they completely took it apart and did a complete body restoration. Dad showed unrelenting courage and determination as he fought and regained his independence several times battling numerous serious medical issues throughout the years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, being with his family and eating delicious home cooked meals!

We will all miss Charlie, but know that he is with the Lord and his wife. My prayers are for your family for your peace during this time.
