Gary T. Brimage Sr., 61, of West Columbia, Texas, was born on July 31, 1952 in Freeport, Texas, and passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Tab and Charlene Brimage, his sister and brother in law Marlene and Sonny Collier, father-in-law Bill Travous, and grandson Zakk Brimage.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Lisa, mother-in-law Naomi Travous, children Troy Brimage and wife, Sabrina; Gary T Brimage Jr. and wife, Maria; Alisha Klehm and husband, Kevin; Jared Brimage and fiancé, Veronica Schaubroeck; and grandchildren Brendan and Breanna Brimage; Taylor, Brett, Jessie, Sara Brimage, Jonathan and Alayna Zavala; Kaylyn and Kyla Klehm; nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives. Also, Jason and Robyn Sinor and children Kylee and Brayden; and Chasity and Teddy Aguirre and children Shelby and Teagn whom he considered his own.

Gary proudly served as a Captain for the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department Reserves and the Gulf Coast Rescue Squad for 18 years of his life.

Gary will be remembered most for his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. He never met a stranger and was the life of every party. Gary touched a lot of lives over his lifetime and was a great friend and surrogate father to many. He enjoyed spending time on his small ranch where he tended to his many different animals and was well-known for being somewhat of an animal "whisperer".

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2014 from 6-8pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Sinor, Tom Womack, Steve Roberts, Dusty Martin, Tim Travous, Larry Bobbitt, Mike Schulz, and Charlie Henkes.

Lisa I am so sorry to hear about your hubby. I never had the chance to meet him but from Lories posts he sounds like a kind of guy I would loved to have a beer with. Patti and I are sending prayers your way because it's the only thing we can do this far away. Please rely on your family and friends to help you get through this. He is looking down on you right now telling you how much he loves you. God Bless you Lisa and your family. Barney and Patti

Lisa, Jarod and Gary,
We are so sorry for your loss. Gary was very special to me and I am going to miss him a lot. He never failed to make me laugh, or to make me feel special. I will always have a special place in my heart for him and especially how he treated my horses and when they passed made a place for them to rest onhis place. He was a part of my life that made me feel whole and now just a part of me is gone. We will always be here for you and when you need us call. We love you.

Thank you Gary for always being there for me and my family. You will be greatly missed! I know you are watching over all of us. I hate that there will be no more times to make new memories, but I cherish all the memories I have with you from as far back as I can remember, there are so many wonderful ones that I am so glad I have with you and will get to hold onto and share with my children as they grow. You hold a very special place in my heart and I know I am a better person for having known you. You always knew just what to say and I am forever grateful to you. Love and hugs always!

We received word from our daughter Paula that your husband and father Gary had passed away yesterday.I am so sorry to hear this. We are the Rudy's down the street. We for years have watched many friends come and go from your home.Gary has been a very Blessed man to have been loved and to love people the way he has.We will always remember his friendly wave ourselves. We knew Gary from a very young teen from Freeport also. Always admired his love for the animals and enjoyed seeing him run around on carts at the Fair.We will miss Him and know he will suffer no more.Lord Bless you all!
