Mary Webb Markette of Richwood passed away April 30, 2014 at her home. She was born October 8, 1945 in Galveston, Texas. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.

Mary is survived by: 4 children Tom Padia, Jr. of Richwood,

Diana Woody of Brazoria,

Amy Smith of Virginia,

Joshua Markette of Pearland,

9 grandchildren,

8 great grandchildren,

1 brother, Roy Webb of Tennessee,

4 sisters: Carol Defore of Kemah,

Jane Gonzalez of Dickenson,

Doris Dunn of Galveston,

and Pam Rusk of Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Elizabeth Webb, sister, Patsy Miranda,

husband, James Rickard Markette, and daughter Deborah Murray.

Mary always made it known that she did not want her death to be a time of mourning but rather a time of rejoicing. While she will be greatly missed by those that loved her, we take comfort in knowing she celebrates in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ and with her loved ones who went home before her.

Graveside services will be 2pm Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Houston National Cemetery

with Rev. Charles Miranda officiating.

Arrangements by the Turner Family. On line condolences may be made tolakewoodfuneralchapel.com.

Mary, the mother of a good friend of mine,Tom Padia Jr. She was this compassionate, loving and above all understanding when it came to me and Toms not so good acting at times but she was allwas connected regardless and first set the kind of compassionate example that I first associated with Christianity and with it a Christ like influence that maintains to this day.She is with her maker in her and HIS time now and is certain to watch over all of family as well as friends as she did in life...Amen.
