Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Fox Shaw
June 18, 1935 to September 24, 2014

Betty was born June 18, 1935 to Milfred George and Nellie Comilla Fox in Crowley, LA. Her family moved to OrangeField, TX in 1937-1938, where she attended school. She was the Head Cheer Leader of the football team.

Betty and Robert Melvin Shaw grew up together and became High School Sweethearts. Robert and Betty married June 25, 1952. They moved to Clute, TX where Robert worked for DOW Chemical Co. in Freeport, TX.

From this union came three children: Robert Michael formerly of Orange, TX, Rose Marie of Hallettsville, TX, and Randy James of Clute, TX.

In addition to her husband of 63 years and three children Betty is survived by Michael's sons Toby Michael Shaw, Jamie Edwards Shaw, Joshuah Culver and his wife Deanne Shaw.

Marie's husband, Ronald Kahanek and sons Thomas Harold Bullard lll, Jacob Roy Kahanek, and Cole Allen Kahanek.

Randy's wife, Martha, daughters Sharon Michelle Shaw, Sharon's fiancé Ralph Carpentier, Jessica Elizbeth and husband Phillip M. Stone.

Betty's 16 Great Grandchildren: Whitney Nicole Morton (husband David Robert Morton), Bethaney Catherine Wright, Jade Phynelaphy Shaw, Jacob Edward Shaw, Zachary Culver Shaw, Gracen Fulle Shaw, Ian Leon Shaw, Connor Caleb Shaw, Anna Gabriel Shaw, Mia D'Lynn Bullard, Zackary Thomas Bullard, Angel Skyy Overton, Nadia Belle Overton, Sophie Ginger Overton, Jayce Armoni Stone, Kenneth James Shaw.

Betty's six Great-Great Grandchildren: Myes Patrick Morton, Jakobi Even Morton, Nicholas Logan Morton, Natalie Morton, Cradden James Davenport and Noah Zachary Shaw.

Betty's two sisters, Dorothy Marie Breaux of Bridge City TX, Patricia Ann and brother-in-law James Conalty of Lake Jackson, TX.


Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, and their families.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Milfred George and Nellie Comilla Fox, two brothers, George Gabriel Fox, Patrick Aloysius Fox, Son, Robert Michael Shaw and daughter-in-law, Marleen Shaw.

Betty enjoyed cooking, couponing, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo so much that many of her friends at Woodlake Nursing Center referred to her as "Betty Bingo".

Rosary service will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday October 5, 2014 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church.
Visitation will follow 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday October 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with Rev James F. Lynes officiating. Interment will be at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, TX.

Pallbearers will be Joshuah Shaw, Thomas Bullard, Ronald Kahanek, Phillip Stone, Kenneth Shaw, and Ralph Carpentier.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul "Poor Box" at St. Jerome's Catholic Church.

The family extends a very special thanks to Dr. Alkesh C. Amin, Susan Fox and all the staff and friends of Woodlake Nursing Center and A*MED Home Health Care for taking such wonderful care of our loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Prayers to the family , Betty & Robert were our neighbors for many yr. I still have recipes that I use that Betty shared with me. God Bless you all.
