Joe David Talley, 68, of Lake Jackson went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 29, 2014 at 2:19pm after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was born June 24, 1946 in Freeport, Texas to William Evans and Rae Adamson Talley. Joe was instrumental in helping to grow the Soul Network Ministry. Joe was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He served in the U.S. Army and was a long time resident of Lake Jackson, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years Teresa Talley of Lake Jackson,

Sons: William Evans Talley, III and Brian Joseph Talley of Lake Jackson,

Daughters: Brittany Etheridge of Lake Jackson, Brandi Guenther and husband, Stephen, of Knob Noster, Mo.

5 grandchildren, brother, James Ernest Talley of Lake Jackson, niece Michelle Bryant and husband Bobby and nephew Justin Talley.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.


The family will receive friends 6pm until 8pm Wednesday at the Soul Network Church. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Soul Network Church; 151 brazosport blvd ; Clute, Texas 77531 with Pastor Don Boe officiating and assisted Pastor Elijah Mwtanti of Virginia.



The family requests donations to; Soul Network Church; 230 Pine Street; Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.

So sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I worked with him for a couple of years at parole in Angleton. He was a very selfless and giving person, always willing to step in and help others whenever he could.

Teresa and all his left behind family,
Joe was a good man. Yes, I never got to meet him, but all the many fine things he has done for many people in this area speakes loud and clear
of his convection to help all he could. My connection is from Teresa Talley that I worked with and attended school with. She ALWAYS had really good things to say about her husband. The two girls he raised that he counted as his own speaks volumes about his big heart.
Teresa, my prayers go out to you and the girls. I know you will really miss this giant of a man that you loved so dearly. God bless you and your family.
