Ray Newton Cash

Ray Newton Cash, 88, from Freeport Texas passed away on December 27, 2014 at his home. He was born February 1st, 1926 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Marvin and Barbara Detrick Cash.

He was a high school graduate from Zanis High School located in Oklahoma, after graduating high school he enrolled in the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy, he went to work for Dow Chemical Co. in Freeport.

He worked for Dow Chemical as an Operator until his retirement in 1982. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed going to Freeport gold course.

He was a connoisseur of Luby's Restaurant and would sometimes frequent two times a day if possible. When not at Luby's you could find him at Freeport Red Top. He was well known in our community. He was a simple man and always had kind Hello's to everyone he saw.

He was a Resident of Kings Road Apartments for 29 years and very loved by staff and residents. He was lovingly called "Road Runner" by the apartment staff. All the residents at the apartment complex would see him zooming by in his walker.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and brothers. He is survived by his only living relative, his sister, Linda Lou Cash from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and numerous cousins. He will be greatly missed by staff at Kings Road Apartments and Dear friend and Manager Brenda Garza.
