Mildred Aucoin

Mildred Aucoin, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015.
Mildred was born Mildred Etta Anderson on July 2, 1923, in Port Neches, Texas but spent her childhood growing up in Woodville, Texas with loving parents, Katherine (Kitty) and Thomas (TB) Anderson, and siblings Dorothy, Rose, Glenn (Son) and Katherine.

Mildred married the love her life, Walter Joseph Aucoin, Jr. in 1942, and the couple built their home and raised their children in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Mildred loved her little town of Lake Jackson and contributed to her community and church. She was a devoted founding member of Willow Drive Baptist, and lovingly gave 25 years of her life working in the nursery. She and Walter were both committed to volunteering and Mildred could be found every Friday volunteering as a Pink Lady at Brazosport Memorial Hospital. She was also a loving mother of 4, grandmother of seven, great grandmother of fifteen and a great-great grandmother.

She is survived by her two children Thomas Joseph Aucoin and Rebecca Reneau (Mike); seven grand-children Tina Gregory, Jerrilin Lashlee, Wade Aucoin (Kendra), Shawn Land (David) and Marsha Webb (Rodney), Reginal Burnet (Tandy), Todd Smith (Michelle) fifteen great grand-children, and one great, great grandson.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Walter and daughters Patti Aucoin and Sonja Smith.


The family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Chapel at 6:00 PM, Saturday February 7th. A memorial service will take place at 4:00 PM Sunday, February 8th at Willow Drive Baptist Church with Scott McKay officiating.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mildred's favorite charity: The Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org).
