Rodney Brent Ford
7/9/1954 - 3/15/2021

Rodney Brent "RB" Ford, of Brazoria Texas passed away Monday, March 15, 2021. RB was born July 9, 1954 in Dallas Texas to Brent Ford, Jr. and Barbara Jean (Mann) Ford. He joined the Coast Guard in 1972. His first post was in Alaska, and then in Freeport Texas. He loved the Texas Gulf Coast and made this area his home. You could find him many weekends taking a ride to different waterfronts to watch the boats, ships, and barges come and go. He even chose a profession that allowed him to enjoy being around the water and ships as a Chemical Inspector until he retired from Inspectorate America. He truly never met a stranger. He had the ability to build friendships and connections with people wherever he was. He loved his family and friends with everything in him; He rejoiced with us, he mourned with us, and he celebrated us. If you were ever loved by him, know you were always loved by him.

RB is survived by his mother Barbara Ford of Fort Myers Florida; daughters and son in laws Butch and Mandi Johnson of Brazoria, Texas and Troi and Melissa Johnson of Manvel, Texas; His Grandchildren Malachi, Margaret, Merry, Lindie, Mia, Troi, CJ, and Tori; his great grandchildren Amoura, Malachi Jr, Khary and Kase; His siblings Tami McKane (Jeff Verbin), Mary Anna Dominquez (Gabriel), and Larry Ford (Sandra), along with numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Brent Ford, Jr.

Dad did not want a traditional memorial service. He did not want for us to mourn his death, but instead to celebrate that he lived his life his way until the very end. So take a moment watch the sunset, look at the boats on the water, have a drink, but most of all do life your way! He took so much joy from his connections with his family and friends watching us live our lives and never judged the choices we made or the different paths we chose. He was just happy to be along for the ride. Music was always a big love of Dad's and I'm left with a song in my head that was played at his father's funeral, Frank Sinatra "My Way." It must be playing on a jukebox in heaven now.

Love,

Mandi & Melissa
