Noel Thomas Sissom

Noel Thomas Sissom went home to God April 28, 2015. He passed from this life in his Oyster Creek, Texas home with his family by his side.
Noel was born in Cameron, Texas on October 31, 1941 to parents Tom and Zelda Sissom. He made his journey to Velasco, Texas to first live in the Dow's Camp Chemical and later moved to Oyster Creek at age five. Noel graduated from Brazosport High School.

Along this journey he met the love of his life Darla Pollock while she was bike riding close to his home. Shortly after graduation he asked Darla for her hand in marriage. To provide for his future wife he put silver dollars in his shoes to meet the physical weight requirements to work for Dow Chemical. A few coins later and a helpful toe on the scale from the doctor he started his thirty five year career at Dow. Noel started as an Operator, and later became a Machinist for Local Union 128. Noel was very proud of his craftsmanship and years of service to Dow Chemical.

Noel enjoyed remodeling and working on cars. The most memorable times were when his sons participated in the car projects. Most of all Noel loved spending time with his family and friends camping special events, or just working on a project around someone's house. He dedicated his life to his family. He loved watching his sons play sports, and his daughter riding horses. Later he was blessed with six grandsons that continued his adventure as he was always one of the kids.

Noel is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dewey Sissom; his mother, Zelda Melissa Sissom; In-laws James and Thelma Pollock; brother in laws; Jack and Robert Pollock, and sister in law Joan Pollock.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years Darla Sissom of Oyster Creek, Texas; son Wayne Sissom, and wife Monica of Midlothian, Texas; son Dennis Sissom, and wife Tammy of Oyster Creek, Texas, and daughter Vickie Sissom of Lake Jackson; special son in law Paul Faltisek of Brazoria, Texas and grandsons Cameron and Cole Sissom of Midlothian, Texas; Trevor and Brandon Sissom of Oyster Creek, Texas;
Ryan and Garreth Faltisek of Lake Jackson, Texas; sister in law; Erlinda Pollock, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers are grandchildren, Cameron, Cole, Trevor, and Brandon Sissom, Ryan and Garreth Faltisek. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Faltisek, Larry Rasmussen, J.T. Hays, Stan Casner, and David Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5041 or https://www.michaeljfox.org/ for electronic donations.

Thank you to those that helped in the care of our Father and the support provided to our Mother. We are truly blessed by the tender care provided by A-Med Hospice family, and all those that took time out of their day to assist our Mother in Dad's care.
Most importantly, thank you Mother for your love and dedication to our Father. She never left his side.
