Nicholas F. Cordes, age 30, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2021. He was born on August 9, 1990, in Houston, Texas to Fred Cordes and Karen Tait Cordes.

Nicholas was loved by so many from the moment he was born. As the youngest of his siblings, Nicholas was doted on by his brother and sisters. Throughout the years, Nicholas developed a love for music. He loved playing the piano and was an avid drum player. He had a natural ability to play anything by ear. Nick's smile and contagious laugh lit up any room he walked in. He was always ready for a great outdoor adventure, whether it be hiking, skiing, swimming, boating, or golfing.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marianne and Robert Scott Tait, Jr., and his paternal grandfather, Harry B. Cordes.

He is survived by his parents, Fred Cordes and Karen Tait Cordes; siblings, Cori Westfield (Scott), Ashlee Guzman, Leah Tran, and Christopher Cordes; his nieces and nephews, Jason Gardner, Delaney Gardner, Shylah Westfield, Dylan Guzman, Lilly Guzman, and Noah Pranger; grandmother, Mary Aton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at New Beginnings Community Church. 400 N. Dixie Dr., Lake Jackson, TX 77566. Visitation will be from 1pm-2pm. Service starts at 2pm. Please deliver all flowers to the church between 11am-1:30pm.

In remembrance of Nick's life, the family asks that any charitable contributions be made to Alpha Academy P.O. Box 4412 San Luis Obispo, CA 93403. Alpha Academy is a Christian-based, 6 month long mentoring program designed to give students a break from their regular life and guide them toward a better path.

Nick you were one of the few friends i found thst i honestly cared to invest effort to always keep in contact with. No matter where we might be living. This is so shocking. Especially when the last thing you said to me the day you passed was this "I will call you when I'm on the west coast sober. We can chat then." Im still waiting for that call. Ill continue to to wait till i see you in heaven then.
Love from you buddy ol pal Stephen.

P.S. oh how i wish we could be arguing right now anout the fact that you always say i like to argue cuz im good at it.

Please know that our family is thinking of you.

Nick was such a lively fun teen, and a joy to have in our home as a friend to Matthew. They had so much fun going to lake Summerville to Ski on weekends, and playing music together with their friends.

I have such sweet memories of this young man when he was living next door to me and my late husband. I remember that he loved to visit and play with our vacuum cleaner. He also enjoyed helping me with Halloween decorations since that wasn't a favorite holiday for Karen. lol. May you Rest In Peace, Nick.
Sincere sympathies to his family. God Bless you all.
Love, Janis

Nick was absolutely my best friend for a difficult part of my life. I had just moved to a new neighborhood and wasn't sure about how I would adjust. Nick and I met while skateboarding throughout the neighborhood and instantly bonded. We found that we had a lot of things in common and were always together after school. Nick taught me to develop a deeper love and appreciation for music. If we weren't playing we were listening and discussing about music, life, and trying to answer all of life's great questions. Nick had an unbelievably kind soul. He was able to see the best in every single person even if they didn't see it themselves. He was always the shining light in the room and could any put a smile on your face. When I look back and remember the wonderful memories it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Nick will be missed terribly missed by all that knew him and all that loved him.

Nick is one of the brightest, funniest, lovingest men I have had the pleasure of calling Friend. Also courageous in his life. I know he is in the Kingdom! I look forward to seeing you Prince Nicholas! Love , Jack

Dearest Karen and family. Win and I are heart broken for all of you in this painful time. He looked and smiled like a gentle soul. That smile and love he had for all of you, will live on in your hearts forever. He is a beautiful butterfly from heaven now.
We live in Ontario, Canada but could not change the state, that is why it says Texas.
