He was an avid deer hunter and loved spending time outdoors. He hunted for 75 years, finally deciding to not go to his deer stand in 2020. Roy bought a small farm in Palestine, Texas in the 1960's. He loved planning, gathering building supplies and constructing a small home in Palestine, Texas. He enjoyed hosting and inviting friends and family to hunt with him in Palestine.
